Eric Thames not starting for Brewers on Wednesday
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Eric Thames is not starting on Wednesday versus the Washington Nationals.
It's likely just a breather for Thames, who is slashing .251/.369/.543 with 24 home runs, 45 RBI, and 63 runs scored in 374 plate appearances (90 games) this season. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base and bat fifth versus Nationals left-hander Gio Gonzalez.
numberFire's models project Thames to turn in a .251 batting average with 10 homers, 32 RBI, and 32 runs scored in 232 plate appearances for the remainder of the year.
