Detroit Tigers utility player Andrew Romine is not starting on Wednesday versus the Kansas City Royals.
Romine returns to the bench after starting in right field on Tuesday. He's slashing .221/.286/.349 with 32 runs scored and 5 steals in 215 plate appearances (75 games) this season. Alex Presley will replace him in the outfield and bat second versus Royals right-hander Ian Kennedy on Wednesday night.
numberFire's models project Romine to turn in a .233 batting average with 14 runs scored and 4 steals in 127 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
