Boston activates Blaine Boyer (elbow) from the DL
The Boston Red Sox have activated reliever Blaine Boyer from the 10-day disabled list.
After spending 10 days on the DL with an elbow strain, Boyer will return to the club. Just in time, too, as fellow reliever Ben Taylor heads to the DL for what will likely be a three or week week stint.
Boyer has a 1-1 record with 20 strikeouts and a 3.44 FIP in 24 innings thus far. As for the rest of the season, our models project him for a 1-1 record and 10 strikeouts in 14-plus innings.
