Brewers talking with White Sox about Anthony Swarzak
The Milwaukee Brewers are engaged in talks with the Chicago White Sox regarding relief pitcher Anthony Swarzak, per FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
At this point in time, the Brewers find themselves in a tie with the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central. At that, the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals are just 2.5 and 4 games back, respectively, so it might be now or never for Milwaukee to make a move or two.
So far this season, the Brewers rank 20th in FIP (4.36) and 24th in home run per fly ball rate (14.1%) among all MLB bullpens. The 31-year-old Swarzak has a 2.34 FIP and has allowed just 3.9% of fly balls to leave the park.
