The New York Mets are expected to promote shortstop prospect Amed Rosario to the big leagues " in a week or so.", according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
With a 46-51 record, the Mets are expected to be sellers come the July 31 trade deadline. After the club opens up space by moving a few of their veteran infielders, Rosario is expected to be called up shortly after that. The 21-year-old is the Mets' top prospect and fourth in all of MLB, according to Baseball America.
Rosario is slashing .329/.367/.473 with 7 home runs, 55 RBI, and 17 steals in 365 plate appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas.
