Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett is not starting on Tuesday versus the New York Yankees.
Arismendy Alcantara is receiving a rare start at second base for the Reds, so Gennett will take a breather following six consecutive turns in the starting lineup. Adam Duvall is at designated hitter for Cincinnati after Gennett took the honors on Monday.
Gennett is slashing .313/.362/.602 with 18 home runs, 58 RBI, and 45 runs scored in 265 plate appearances (83 games) this season. numberFire's models project him for a .293 batting average with 7 homers, 24 RBI, and 22 runs scored in 171 plate appearances for the rest of the year.
