Padres' Erick Aybar (foot fracture) may be done for year
San Diego Padres shortstop Erick Aybar has been diagnosed with a fractured left foot that may keep him out for the rest of the season.
Aybar could possibly return at some point in September, but the injury is much more severe than what was initially believed. Allen Cordoba and Dusty Coleman will take care of things at shortstop for the Padres moving forward.
If his season is over, the 33-year-old shortstop will finish 2017 with a .227/.295/.346 slash while posting 6 home runs, 16 RBI, 30 runs scored, and 7 steals over 291 plate appearances (84 games).
