Sandy Leon sitting on Monday for Boston
Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon is not starting on Monday versus the Seattle Mariners.
Leon has started three of the past four behind the plate for Boston, but he'll take a seat for tonight's series opener against left-hander James Paxton and the Mariners. Christian Vazquez will bat eighth while catching Red Sox southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez.
On the season, Leon is slashing .239/.292/.367 with 5 dingers and 23 RBI across 196 plate appearances (55 games). numberFire's models project him to turn in a .252 batting average 122 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
