The Minnesota Twins acquired starting pitcher Jaime Garcia, catcher Anthony Recker and cash considerations from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitching prospect Huascar Ynoa.
The two teams agreed to a deal last week but nixed the agreement when Nick Burdi failed a physical. After re-working the deal, the Twins rotation gets a bump with the veteran southpaw Gacia. He will likely slot in as the third or fourth starter in Minnesota, behind Ervin Santana and Jose Berrios.
Garica has posted a 4.30 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts in 113 innings pitched this season.
