San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik is not starting on Sunday versus the San Diego Padres.
Miguel Gomez is making just the second major league start of his career on Sunday afternoon, so Panik will sit down in the series finale against right-hander Dinelson Lamet and the Padres. He's slashing .266/.323/.394 over 372 plate appearances (89 games) this season.
numberFire's models project Panik to record a .260 batting average in 241 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
