Miguel Gomez starting for Giants on Sunday
San Francisco Giants infielder Miguel Gomez is starting on Sunday versus the San Diego Padres.
Joe Panik is getting a breather, so Gomez will make the second big league start of his career. The 24-year-old rookie has gone 2-for-12 in 10 total games this season. He's manning second base and batting seventh against Padres right-hander Dinelson Lamet on Sunday afternoon.
Lamet owns a 31.2 strikeout percentage this season and the Giants don't have the most encouraging implied total (4.40 runs) in a matchup with a low over/under (8.5), so their lineup doesn't offer much upside. numberFire's models project Gomez to score only 5.2 FanDuel points at a cost of $2,000 on Sunday.
