Joe Mauer out as Twins take on Tigers
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer is not in Sunday's lineup versus the Detroit Tigers.
Mauer will head to the bench after starting the past two for Minnesota. He's slashing .280/.356/.392 with 5 home runs in 331 plate appearances (79 games) this season. Miguel Sano is starting on first base for the Twins while Eduardo Escobar is manning the hot corner and Jorge Polanco gets the nod at shortstop.
