Dodgers trade Sergio Romo to Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired relief pitcher Sergio Romo from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations or a player to be named later.
Romo has struggled this season with the Dodgers, posting a 6.12 ERA over 25 innings of work. The Rays were one of the teams in talks with Romo over the summer, so it makes sense they would trade for him. A change of scenery might do Romo some good over the second half, but the Rays will likely be shopping for more bullpen help as the deadline approaches.
Our models project Romo to post a 3.83 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, with 20 strikeouts over 18.8 innings remaining this year.
