Starlin Castro

Starlin Castro (hamstring) placed on the Yankees' DL

The New York Yankees have placed second baseman Starlin Castro (hamstring) on the 10-day DL, per Erik Boland of Newsday Sports.

What It Means:

Castro didn't even make it a week without returning the DL. He missed 13 games with a hamstring strain at the beginning of the month and may be sidelined longer this time. Tyler Wade was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Ronald Torreyes is starting at second base Saturday.

Castro has slugged 12 home runs with 45 RBI while posting a .307 batting average in 337 plate appearances this season.
