Chris Herrmann not in Diamondbacks' lineup on Friday
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann is not starting on Friday night versus the Washington Nationals.
Herrmann returns to the bench after drawing the start in right field on Thursday. David Peralta will replace him in the outfield while Jeff Mathis draws the start at catcher for Arizona.
Through 175 plate appearances (71 games) this season, Herrmann is slashing a disappointing .175/.269/.370 with 8 homers and 23 RBI. numberFire's models project him to turn in a .238 batting average with 4 home runs and 14 RBI over 115 remaining plate appearances in 2017.
