Eric Hosmer not starting for Royals on Friday night
Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer is not starting on Friday night versus the Chicago White Sox.
It's likely just a day off for Hosmer, who will be replaced at first base by Brandon Moss on Friday. The 27-year-old first baseman is slashing a strong .315/.372/.493 in 94 games this season while turning in 14 homers, 46 RBI, and 55 runs scored. Salvador Perez is at DH for the Royals while Drew Butera takes over behind the plate.
numberFire's models project Hosmer to turn in a .289 batting average with 7 homers, 34 RBI, and 32 runs scored in 262 more plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
