Cardinals option Magneuris Sierra to Double-A Springfield
The St. Louis Cardinals optioned outfielder Magneuris Sierra to Double-A Springfield.
Sierra slashed an impressive .365/.400/.365 in 13 major league contests this season, but the Cardinals apparently would prefer the 21-year-old outfielder to play full time in the minor leagues. Randal Grichuk (back) has been activated from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move.
The Cardinals are 9th in numberFire's MLB Team Power Rankings.
