Rangers talking to teams about potential Yu Darvish trade
The Texas Rangers have been reaching out to teams that may be interested in acquiring pitcher Yu Darvish, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.
Passan listed the Astros, Brewers, Yankees, Indians, Dodgers and Rockies as teams that could be interested, and FanRag Sports' Jon Morosi has reported that the Cubs have inquired with the Rangers about Darvish. They are reportedly not committed to moving Darvish, but he's on the last year of his contract and the Rangers are already looking unlikely to make a real playoff push.
Darvish has had a down year in 2017, with a 3.93 SIERA, 25.6% strikeout rate and 1.14 WHIP. numberFire's models project him for a 3.42 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 24.3% strikeout rate over the remainder of the season.
