Cole Hamels scratched from Friday start
Phillies ace Cole Hamels has been scratched from his scheduled Friday start against the Cardinals due to a "mild" hamstring injury. Phillippe Aumont will make the start instead.
Hamels has had a strong 2015 campaign, with a 2.96 ERA and a 2.47 nERD which puts him at sixth best among pitchers by our metrics. It's no secret that Hamels is on the trade block, so its tough to say exactly what the extent of this injury leave will be. Aumont, his replacement, has a 2.35 ERA for AAA Lehigh Valley in 65 innings pitched.
