Boston's Andrew Benintendi not in the lineup for Thursday's home game
Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi is not in the lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.
It's a routine day off for Benintendi, and Chris Young will cover left field while Dustin Pedroia handles designated hitter duties and the Red Sox' infield personnel shuffles around to make room for Xander Bogaerts returning to the lineup and starting at shortstop.
Benintendi has posted a .331 wOBA with 12 home runs, 9 stolen bases and 52 RBI in 89 games in 2017, and numberFire's models project him to bat .272 with 5 home runs, 5 stolen bases and 26 RBI in 257 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
