Jedd Gyorko sitting Thursday for St. Louis
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jedd Gyorko is not starting on Thursday versus the New York Mets.
What It Means:
Gyorko is slashing a terrific .292/.354/.505 with 14 homers, 49 RBI, and 36 runs scored in 333 plate appearances (84 games) this season, but he'll get a breather for Thursday's series finale. Greg Garcia is on the hot corner for St. Louis and batting seventh versus Mets right-hander Seth Lugo.
numberFire's models project Gyorko to turn in a .270 batting average with 11 home runs, 34 RBI, and 34 runs scored in another 254 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
