Kolten Wong out for Cardinals against Mets on Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong is not starting on Thursday versus the New York Mets.
Wong is currently enjoying a four-game hit streak, but he'll get a breather for today's series finale. Matt Carpenter is getting the start at second base while Luke Voit will take over at first and hit cleanup versus Mets right-hander Seth Lugo.
The 26-year-old second baseman is slashing .304/.391/.433 across 198 plate appearances (PA) this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .273 batting average in 157 remaining PA this year.
