White Sox send Tommy Kahnle to the Yankees in trade
The New York Yankees have acquired relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle as part of Tuesday's seven-player trade with the Chicago White Sox.
The Yankees picked up a pair of relievers in this deal, also adding David Robertson. Both will likely work in setup roles in New York.
Kahnle has had an outstanding 2017 season so far, posting a 1.62 SIERA with a 42.6% strikeout rate, 5.0% walk rate and 0.97 WHIP through 37 games (36 innings pitched). numberFire's models expect him to cool off significantly though, project him for a 3.79 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 24.3% strikeout rate in 26 innings over the remainder of the season.
