Atlanta Braves second baseman Brandon Phillips is not starting on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.
The Braves are giving Phillips the day off, opening up second base for Sean Rodriguez, who will bat seventh versus Cubs left-hander Mike Montgomery.
Phillips is slashing .293/.338/.441 with 8 home runs, 35 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 7 steals in 347 plate appearances (85 games) this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .293 batting average with another 5 homers, 28 RBI, 33 runs scored, and 7 steals in 263 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
