Astros' Carlos Correa (thumb) to miss 6-8 weeks
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa has been placed on the disabled list with a torn ligament in his left thumb.
Correa jammed his thumb at the plate on Monday, and the torn ligament is expected to cost him 6-8 weeks, which would leave him returning to the lineup in time for the playoffs. Marwin Gonzalez will take his place at shortstop on Tuesday.
Correa is sporting a career-high .403 wOBA on the year, and numberFire's models project him to bat .298 over the remainder of the season.
