Carlos Correa suffers jammed thumb in Astros' loss
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa suffered a jammed left thumb during Monday's 9-7 loss to the Seattle Mariners.
Correa was forced to exit in the fourth inning Monday after injuring himself on a swing. He'll be re-evaluated Tuesday but it looks like the 22-year-old shortstop aggravated the same injury that cost him a contest earlier this month. Marwin Gonzalez figures to fill in at shortstop for Houston if Correa misses any time.
For the season, Correa is slashing .320/.400/.566 with 20 home runs, 67 RBI, and 64 runs scored in 375 plate appearances (84 games) this season. numberFire's metrics project him to record a .298 batting average with another 6 taters, 23 RBI, and 20 runs scored in 151 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
