Minnesota Twins infielder Eduardo Escobar is absent from Monday's starting lineup versus the New York Yankees.
Miguel Sano is handling the hot corner for Minnesota while Kennys Vargas is in at designated hitter against right-hander Bryan Mitchell and the Yankees. Escobar went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Sunday and he's now slashing .270/.316/.433 with 8 home runs, 28 RBI, and 26 runs scored in 231 plate appearances (64 games) this season.
