Mike Napoli not in Rangers' starting lineup versus Orioles
Texas Rangers first baseman/designated hitter Mike Napoli is not starting on Monday night versus the Baltimore Orioles.
It's likely just a standard day off for Napoli, who will be replaced by Joey Gallo at first base in tonight's series opener with right-hander Chris Tillman and the Orioles. Napoli has already hit two home runs to start the second half and he's currently enjoying a five-game hitting streak that stretches back before the break.
For the season, Napoli is batting just .203, but he's crushed 20 home runs with 42 RBI and 35 runs scored in 292 plate appearances (PA). numberFire's models project him to turn in a .233 batting average with another 11 homers, 33 RBI, and 28 runs scored in 224 PA over the remainder of the year.
