Washington Nationals first baseman Adam Lind is absent from Monday's starting lineup against the Cincinnati Reds.
Lind was excellent on Sunday, going 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in a 14-4 victory over the Reds. He'll return to the bench for today's matinée with Ryan Zimmerman starting at first base and batting cleanup versus Cincinnati right-hander Scott Feldman.
For the season, Lind is slashing .312/.373/.544 with 7 home runs and 31 RBI in 142 plate appearances (60 games). numberFire's models project him to record a .279 batting average with 5 homers and 18 RBI in 136 more plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
