Bryan Mitchell making first start of season Monday for Yankees
New York Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell will start Monday against the Minnesota Twins.
Mitchell was pushed back to Monday after originally being scheduled for the front end of Sunday's doubleheader. This will be his first big league start of the season -- and only the eighth of his career -- for the 26-year-old right-hander. He's twirled a 5.06 ERA in 12 relief appearances this season for the Yankees, and likely doesn't bring much streaming appeal into tonight's matchup with the Twins.
In nine starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2017, Mitchell has gone 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 25.4 strikeout percentage over 35 innings.
