Washington acquires reliever Ryan Madson from Oakland
Oakland Athletics reliever Ryan Madson has been traded to the Washington Nationals, along with Sean Doolittle in exchange for pitchers Blake Treinen and Jesus Luzardo and third baseman Sheldon Neuse.
What It Means:
The Nationals have upgraded their bullpen with the addition of the two veteran relievers. Madson will be in the mix for saves in Washington after posting a solid first half to the season with 14 holds and a 2.06 ERA with Oakland.
For the rest of the season, our models project Madson for a 2.62 WRA, 1.10 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings pitched.
