Oakland reliever Sean Doolittle traded to Washington
Oakland Athletics reliever Sean Doolittle was traded to the Washington Nationals, along with Ryan Madson, in exchange for pitchers Blake Treinen and Jesus Luzardo and third baseman Sheldon Neuse.
Doolittle and Madson will immediately help a struggling Nationals' bullpen and could be in the mix for save chances right away. He posted a 3.38 ERA with 8 holds during an injury plagued 2017 season.
Our models project Doolittle for 23 strikeouts and a 2.94 ERA in 21 1/3 innings pitched the rest of the season.
