Twins' Joe Mauer (back) activated from DL, starting on Saturday
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer is active and starting at first for Saturday's game against the Houston Astros.
Mauer missed 10 days, but his presence will push Kennys Vargas back to the bench. In a corresponding move, Byron Buxton (groin) was placed on the 10-day disabled list. Mauer will hit third against righty Joe Musgrove.
In 241 plate appearances, Mauer has hit .304 with 5 home runs and a .358 wOBA against right-handed pitching. With an implied run total of 4.23, and listed at $3,200, the veteran could be in for a solid showing Saturday evening.
