Stephen Strasburg (hip) to start on Monday for Washington

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg will make his first start of the second half on Monday versus the Cincinnati Reds, per Mark Zuckerman of MASN.

What It Means:

Strasburg was forced to exit his last start before the break, on July 8, after being hit on the hip by a comebacker. He was available to pitch in the All-Star Game but didn't make an appearance. The Nats are giving the flamethrower extra rest as Gio Gonzelez will start Friday, Max Scherzer on Saturday, and Tanner Roark on Sunday.

numberFire's algorithms project Strasburg for a 3.36 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 94 punchouts in 93 2/3 innings pitched the rest of the season.
