Cubs' Kyle Hendricks (hand) may return immediately after the All-Star break
Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks (hand) may be ready to return to the rotation immediately following the All-Star break.
Hendricks only lasted for 2 1/3 innings in Monday's minor league rehab start, but he was apparently free of discomfort in the outing. Cubs' pitching coach Chris Bosio has said that Hendricks will be re-evaluated in 2-3 days, and he could return as soon as this weekend.
numberFire's models project Hendricks for a 4.13 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 17.1% strikeout rate in 46 innings pitched over the remainder of the season.
