Giants put Austin Slater on the disabled list
San Francisco Giants second baseman/outfielder Austin Slate is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Miami Marlins because he has been placed on the 10-day disabled list.
Slater got the start in left field on Friday, but had to exit early with what we now know is a groin injury. Gorkys Hernandez is starting in left field on Saturday and hitting eighth against Chris O'Grady.
Our models project Slater to post a .245 average, with 1 home run and 6 RBI over 58 plate appearances remaining this season.
