Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jharel Cotton (blister) on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on his thumb.
What It Means:
Cotton has been dealing with blister issues for nearly a month now but was placed on the DL Thursday to open up a roster spot for the A's this weekend. Cotton is expected to be ready to go after the All-Star break.
Cotton has disappointed with a 5.17 ERA and 1.41 WHIP so far, but our models see him rebounding a bit in the second half with a 4.75 ERA, and 44 strikeouts in 58 2/3 innings pitched the rest of the season.
