Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood struck out 10 and allowed just three hits in seven shutout innings as the Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0 in Wednesday night's contest.
With Wednesday's winning effort, Wood became the first Dodgers starter since 1955 to go 10-0. He could be the top candidate to replace teammate Clayton Kershaw (starting on Sunday) in this year's All-Star game.
In 13 starts this season, Wood has been incredible. He boasts a 2.04 FIP and is striking out 10.82 batters per 9 innings, a career-best.
