Tigers place Daniel Norris (groin) on 10-day DL
The Detroit Tigers have placed left-hander Daniel Norris on the club's 10-day disabled list with a groin strain.
After Norris gave up five runs in just four innings his last time out against the San Francisco Giants, the Tigers decided to free up his roster spot since he wasn't going to start until after the All-Star break anyway. He should be back following the break. In the corresponding move, Detroit called up lefty Blaine Hardy from Triple-A Toledo.
In 16 starts, Norris is 4-7 with a 4.31 FIP and 79 strikeouts across 85 innings. According to numberFire's models, he's projected for a 4-4 record with 57 strikeouts the rest of the way this season.
