Matt Adams out of Braves' lineup with knee issue
Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Adams is starting on Friday against the Oakland Athletics.
Adams left Thursday's game in the second inning with a left foot contusion after fouling a ball off himself. X-rays came back negative, but it's unknown how much time he may miss. Jace Peterson is filling in at first base and batting eighth versus Athletics right-hander Sonny Gray.
Without accounting for any missed time, numberFire's models project Adams to record a .267 batting average with 10 home runs and 32 RBI in 213 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
