Dustin Fowler making MLB debut as Yankees battle White Sox

New York Yankees outfield prospect Dustin Fowler is in the starting lineup for his big league debut on Thursday night against the Chicago White Sox.

What It Means:

Fowler will start in right field and bat sixth for the Yankees as he gets his first taste of big-league action versus right-hander James Shields and the White Sox. With Fowler in right, Tyler Wade is moving to second base, Ronald Torreyes is on third, and Chase Headley will be available off the bench.

Through 69 games and 312 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, Fowler slashed .291/.327/.530 while turning in a .857 OPS with 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 48 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases.
