Kris Bryant (ankle) thinks he can avoid Cubs' disabled list
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (ankle) is optimistic that he will be able to avoid the disabled list.
Bryant told reporters on Thursday afternoon that he already feels "a ton" better after rolling his ankle on the third base bag during Wednesday night's contest. He should be back by the beginning of next week. Jeimer Candelario is starting at third base and batting sixth for the Cubs on Thursday versus the Washington Nationals.
Assuming he does avoid a DL trip, our models currently project Bryant to add 16 home runs, 47 RBI, and 6 stolen bases to his totals over the remainder of the season while turning in a .284 batting average in 332 plate appearances.
