The New York Yankees are promoting prospect Dustin Fowler from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, reports Josh Norris of Baseball America.
The 22-year-old outfield prospect should see immediate playing time as recent call-up Tyler Austin is dealing with a hamstring issue. He may not be around for long, but Fowler could be worth a look as a deep-league option for those looking to make an add.
Through 69 games and 312 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, Fowler slashed .291/.327/.530 while turning in a .857 OPS with 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 48 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases.
