Blue Jays sign Michael Saunders to minor league deal
The Toronto Blue Jays have signed free agent outfielder Michael Saunders to a minor league contract.
Saunders was let go by the Philadelphia Phillies on June 25th. He had previously played for Toronto in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
In 61 games, Saunders slashed just .205/.257/.360 with Philadelphia. He'll hope to return to form in a familiar place. In his last year with the Blue Jays, the 30-year-old hit .253/.338/.478 with 24 home runs and 57 RBI.
