Jorge Soler starting at designated hitter for Kansas City
Kansas City Royals outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler is in Wednesday night's starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers.
This will be Soler's first start since being called back up from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday afternoon. He hasn't seen any major league action since May 28, but the demotion seemed to do him well, as he turned in a 333/.478/.736 slash with eight home runs over 20 games while at the lower level. Soler will bat seventh tonight versus Tigers southpaw Derek Norris. Brandon Moss is on the Royals' bench.
Soler struggled to a .164/.292/.273 slash and .255 wOBA over his first 65 plate appearances this season prior to being sent down. He costs $2,500 on FanDuel tonight.
