Victor Martinez

Detroit's Victor Martinez (heart) back in action against the Royals

Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez (heart) has been activated from the disabled list and is back in the lineup against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Martinez was on the DL with an irregular heartbeat, but the issue seems to have been minor, and he'll once again handle designated hitter duties and bat sixth against Royals' righty Ian Kennedy tonight. His return sends John Hicks back to the bench.

While his .308 wOBA is underwhelming, Martinez has a strong 44.2% hard-hit rate against righties in 2017, and being priced at only $2,900 on FanDuel leaves him as a viable value option against Kennedy and his 5.09 SIERA.
