Giants' Mark Melancon (elbow) lands on disabled list
San Francisco Giants closer Mark Melancon has been placed on the team's 10-day disabled list with a pronator strain of his right elbow.
Melancon was sent to the DL with the same injury last month. With this most recent flare-up, expect the Giants to proceed with caution before bringing him back to the active roster. Meanwhile, Sam Dyson will do the closing for San Francisco.
Melancon has just 11 saves in 32 appearances this season and has struggled to a 3.62 FIP across 20 2/3 innings. We project him for only 14 more saves in 29 1/3 innings the rest of the year.
