The Colorado Rockies placed outfielder Carlos Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 23, with a right shoulder strain.
Gonzalez has been dealing with the shoulder discomfort for a little while and will take a couple of weeks off to rest up and hope it heals. Raimel Tapia will continue to get the bulk of the at-bats in Gonzalez's place.
CarGo has struggled this season, slashing .221/.300/.348 with a .279 wOBA and 6 home runs in 277 plate appearances.
