Joe Mauer absent from the Twins' lineup against Boston
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer is not in the lineup on Monday as the Twins travel to take on the Boston Red Sox.
It looks to be a routine day off for Mauer against Red Sox' lefty Chris Sale, and Kennys Vargas will get the start at first base while batting fifth.
Mauer has an ugly .253 wOBA against lefties this season, and the Twins' offense doesn't lose anything with him out of the lineup tonight. The tough matchup does leave them with the day's lowest implied total though -- at 3.52.
