San Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges (thigh) is back in the lineup on Friday.
Hedges has missed the last two games with a bruised thigh after he survived a collision with the Chicago Cubs' Anthony Rizzo on Monday. He is batting eighth versus the Detroit Tigers. Luis Torrens will head back to the bench.
